A Colorful Paragraph on Writer’s Block

writing-hand-1443450574xaTWriter’s block. Ahh, that fun moment when you have so much to say, but it’s not coming out the way you want it to. It fills you with frustration, displeasure, and restlessness because the words that usually flow out like a melody from your inner thoughts to the tips of your fingers are lost somewhere in the flurry of your subconscious mind. You pray for a muse, only to be disappointed because she flew away to help someone else. It’s as if she is sitting on your shoulder smiling, tempting, then teasing you with her flirtatious uncertainty. You want to scream, “Stop the madness!” But instead, she lures you in with her makeshift song. You want to compose, create, paint a picture… and it comes out all wrong! These are the moments the breeze of uncertainty takes over and you end up recording ideas that have nothing to do with what you wanted to communicate. Amusing and entertaining as it is to some, it leaves you groping, trying to grasp the right words as if they are hands offering assistance, only to pull back further and further until you fall into a pit of resentment.
